Hey brokers, team leaders, I’ve got a question for you: when was your last wow moment when it comes to marketing for your firm?
When did you roll out a piece of digital marketing — maybe a new sign design, new branding, new flyers, something fresh and exciting technologically? Maybe it’s a new website or a new social media skin. Something that wowed your agents.
If the answer is you can’t remember, or it was sometime last year, I’m going to suggest that you commit to doing this once a quarter.
Once a quarter, you should be rolling out a wow moment for your agents where they’re like, “Whoa, that is cool. That is really exciting.”
This keeps your company fresh. It keeps it exciting. It gives you a retention tool, and it gives you a recruiting tool at the same time.
Then the question becomes: what is it?
We’ve got to go in search of it. We’ve got to look for people outside of our company, ideas, strategies, marketing pieces, branding pieces outside the company, and be in tune and say, “Hey, there’s an idea. There’s a strategy. There’s something I want to implement and start to roll out.”
Also, this doesn’t have to cost a lot of money.
I’ll give you an example: a marketing piece, a digital marketing piece that you have a graphic designer build, or maybe one of your staff members builds. It’s not that much money. Maybe it’s $100 or $200 to build a brand-new presentation, a folder, or a brand-new social media skin.
Those are not expensive, but they’re powerful in that they give everybody a wow moment.
I’ll give you another example: A couple years ago, we built out some riders that go on signs. We call them a photo rider. You’ve seen them before, where people can put multiple photos on a sign rider hanging from the signs.
So when people drive by, they can stop, look, and see interior pictures of the home. Kind of an interesting concept, right?
Then we did Perma Flyers. You’ve seen Perma Flyers too. This is a flyer attached to the sign. People can scan a digital QR code and see a video tour or more pictures of the home.
It’s like a giant flyer, but it’s plastic and stays on the sign. People don’t pull flyers out — they just scan the QR code.
Those are wow moments, guys.
You need to have some wow moments for recruiting and retention that you’re rolling out consistently.
