I've got a question for you as an office leader or team leader:
Do you have a recruiting website?
Most of the people I coach—office leaders and team leaders across the country—don’t. It's just not something they've thought about.
But having a recruiting website is important.
When someone starts to consider joining your company, they’ll do a little Google search. They’ll check out your website. They’ll look to see if it looks professional, if it feels like a good fit, and if it reflects who they are.
Now, if you also have a recruiting website—or at least a dedicated recruiting page—they can dive into the value your company offers without needing to talk to you just yet.
That’s powerful. A lot of agents are nervous about making that first contact. They don’t want to jump on a call right away. You can make it easier by creating a recruiting page on your website—or even a separate website entirely—dedicated to recruiting.
The most important part of that page?
Outlining your entire value proposition.
Not your commission plans—that’s a personal conversation. Just say you offer a competitive plan. Focus instead on why someone should work with you.
What are the five reasons? What are the ten?
And most importantly: include a video of yourself.
In the video, welcome them to the page:
The goal is to make them feel comfortable reaching out.
Remember: 90% of the reason someone will join your company is because they like you.
You could have the best tools, best training, best location, and even the best commission plans—
But if they don’t connect with you personally, they’re not joining.
So first, break that barrier. Help them think, "Jim seems like a good guy. I’d feel comfortable talking to him."
And finally, make it easy to book a meeting.
Add a scheduling link right on the page. I use Calendly. They click the link, pick a time, and—boom—they’re on my calendar.
Maybe it’s a Zoom. Maybe it’s a quick phone call. Maybe it's an offsite meeting (probably not in your office—that’s a whole other conversation).
Just make the first step easy.
So here’s your challenge:
Go build that recruiting website. (Or at least that recruiting page.)
Make it personal. Make it clear. And most of all—make it easy for great agents to say yes to you.
