How to Leverage 50-Year Mortgages & Portable Mortgages to Become The Expert In Your Market

 

I have a question for you. As a real estate agent, how topical are you?

What do I mean by topical? In other words, when you watch the news at night, open up your web browser, or scroll through social media, a lot of real estate news hits us. Because we’re in the real estate business, we see a lot of news that affects us.

If it’s really top of mind for you, guess who else sees that? All of your clients see that too.

So when there’s a topic that’s hot, and you see a lot of trending discussion around that topic, what should you do with it? Well, you should speak to it. You should put out your own content where you talk about your opinion on that specific topic.

I’m going to give you two examples that fall into that realm right now—topics there’s been a lot of chatter about, two proposals by the current administration. You can agree or disagree with them, but there’s still a lot of chatter.

The two proposals: 50-year mortgages and portable mortgages.

Have you heard the chatter?

This is something you could comment on, put out a video about, or send in an email post. You don’t have to take a strong stance on whether it’s right, wrong, or indifferent. You could simply explain both sides: here are some advantages, here are some disadvantages. Then ask for people’s opinions about the proposals.

I think this will drive a tremendous amount of engagement.

Now you might say, “Jim, how would I find enough information and talk credibly about a 50-year mortgage or the idea of a portable mortgage?” Very simple: AI.

Just go to AI and say, “Tell me everything there is to know about these two proposals. Tell me the good, tell me the bad.” Read it all. Take it all in, and then formulate your content. You can even have it write a script for you.

Then you could push the script into a lot of platforms that act as a teleprompter. You hear me talk about a lot of them: BigVu, which was recommended to me by one of my friends, and another one, Template. You can just load your scripts, read from the teleprompter, and bingo—you look like an absolute expert.

You’re speaking to something everybody’s talking about. These will be trending topics on social media, so you get a lot more traction.

Try that technique. Be topical with what you’re talking about and watch as your engagement rises.
